How does ethnocentrism cause conflict?

Ethnocentrism can cause a lot of conflicts because of the way one culture sees another.
For example, in the movie, The First Australians, the British saw the Aboriginals as wierd
because of the way they talked, dressed and acted. Instead of accepting the way the Aboriginals
lived, the British tried to change them. At this point, the Aboriginals found the British as evil people
because they were taking over land and ordering for changes to happen to the way the Aboriginals
lived. The British chopped down crops, ordered their soldiers to take away the children and
sometimes even kill the women and children. Because the British were treating the Aboriginals this
way, the Aboriginals tried to resist them as they didn't understand each other. If they had both taken
the time to understand each other, there wouldn't be any war between these two countries.
